Skyway Theatre - The Loft Customers Reviews
Amazing voice and concert!
My wife and I have been going to Honda Center for years whether it's been for Ducks Hockey or concerts. For concerts, the atmosphere is nice but the acoustics is typically bad. We saw P!nk and loved the concert but the acoustics was average at best. When Beth Ditto came out before Sam, we knew that she had a good voice but the acoustics didn't do her justice. We were somewhat concerned about hearing Sam.
Well, when we left the concert, we were saying that he sounded better than the recordings. We weren't sure what it was but his songs (hearing them on Spotify or where ever) was what made us decide to go. Concerts generally don't do the artist justice. Harsh environment, etc. For Sam Smith, he sounded better than on the radio! We were so impressed that we are definitely looking to see his concert again. His show was definitely one of the best this year! If you have a chance, go! You will not be disappointed!!
Amazing
Sam Smith was amazing. He brought the drama in his performance to match his songs and even turned out some great danceable numbers throughout. What I liked was that he really used his stage and gave his audience, no matter where they sat some love and attention.
He sang as silkily as he does on his EPs, and I would absolutely love to watch him again if he were ever to come back to Phoenix. You really get the impression that he really enjoys himself at his concerts and loves his fans as well. Well worth the show!
*Some cussing throughout (including with opening act Beth Ditto), so depending on your personal preference, you might want to leave your children at home.
Sam Smith - talent, talent and more talent
Such a pleasure to see a performer who can deliver the goods on all levels. Sam Smith has a fantastic range and his last concert of the tour, in Calgary, did not disappoint. He was personable with the crowd, looked like he was having fun with his backing singers and band and even looked tearful when he thanked his audience for having him there. Nice to know that he recognizes his fan base and does not take them for granted. Thank you, Sam Smith, for giving us the perfect concert. If you haven't seen him live yet, what are you waiting for!!
